Hi folks, heres the quick guide to all things social with WIT Kayaking Club. Waterford Institute of Technology has one on Campus bar at the moment know as "The Dome" you find it on the Main Cork Rd Campus. Currently Cora from the club works there on and off, you'll be sure to shout your drinks orders in her direction when your there, provided your wearing your club hoodie or other parafinalia you should recieve prompt service. The college bar is open most evenings and evens are run regualrly by the bar like WITFactor, quizzes, raffles and great irish bands most monday nights.

As for other watering holes, Fletchers a couple of doors down from Rubys in town is another popular Haunt for paddlers. Kev works here, an experienced bar man with his years behind the bar at kasbar and the dome he'll be sure to find the poison for you. We will have a couple of after paddling drinks here on regular occasion. Apart from that Geoff's Kasbar and the Wacky Apples are well reccomended also.

Other entertainment in Waterford City is provided in the form of the cinemas and thats about it. Storm cinemas are just across the road from Tesco polbery and the Cinema on the barracks St hill to Ballybrickken are the two cinemas in town. If your bored for something to do and want company to the cinema throw it up on the message board and plenty of people are often glad to come along. Dont every be afraid to ask for Student Discounts too it can be well worth it!!!

Nights to Remember

There are plenty of nights to remember throughout the year. BigBoatBonanza in Wicklow every October/November is one of the biggest parties and gathering of paddlers in ireland after the Liffey Decent. With a fancy dress on the saturday night its always one to remember. Other similar events take place like Flesk Jam in Kilarney in December and WildWetWestWeekend in Galway in November. The Annual Liffey Decent is the biggest gathering of paddlers in the country with some 1500+ competitors each year and many more spectators it makes for a great event with a big BBQ on the night of the Race.
